Again | Homemaker Poetry Series
This poem is for all of the mamas who feel like the apostle Paul:
“For what I want to do I do not do but what I hate I do.” Romans 7:15 NIV
I’ve lost my temper far more than I like to admit. Sometimes, it’s nice to be reminded that you are not the only Christian who makes a mistake and admittedly seeks repentance and redemption. Mamas, you can try and try again.
Again
By Haley Littlepage
Another outpour of anger,
another repentant prayer,
feeling much in danger
of not getting anywhere.
The Spirit lifts my head
and fills my heart with patience.
Jesus intercedes, the Father
showers his forgiveness.
This race is not yet over;
the world not at its end.
Collecting my composure,
I try and try again.

Dear Homemaker,
Sin creeps in and takes over before we ever realize that the hurtful words have left our mouths. When this happens, the best thing we can do is ask for forgiveness from both our family and our heavenly Father.
The next step is to pray for intercession from the Holy Spirit, that we would become more patient, gentle and Christ-like to those we love most. God is happy to answer this prayer and the quicker we move towards redemption, the less we allow the enemy to use our mistakes to make us feel like there’s no use in trying.
Keep trying, homemaker.
Humbly,
Haley
