Morning Sabbath | Homemaker Poetry Series

This poem was inspired by a rare moment alone on the back porch before the kids woke up. A blanket, cup of coffee and my Bible accompanied me for a moment of rapture basking in God’s creation.

Morning Sabbath

By Haley Littlepage

Paradise hums beneath the Curse;

gilded sunlight through the horizon bursts

amidst the worship song of birds.

A stirring in the breeze,

sets my soul at ease;

as the breath of God blows through the trees.

The Word laid before me,

His mighty and merciful story

whispers,

“May this morning sabbath

restore thee.”

Dear Homemaker,

I pray this poem blessed you. May each morning be filled with a sabbath of solitude and a moment basking in the glory of the Lord before each day begins.

Humbly,

Haley
