The Charlotte Mason Mother-Teacher’s Homeschool Planner
Sitting down to a fresh planner is the joy of every mother-teacher at the beginning of each homeschool year. I had a hard time finding a homeschool planner that would fit all of my needs as a wife, mother, and homeschool teacher with a busy life.
I love to write down everything and the planners on the market just didn’t fit what I was looking for. I wanted something comprehensive, that kept all of my plans in one place. I also wanted something specific to our family’s method of homeschooling, which is Charlotte Mason.
What’s a mother-teacher to do? Make my own homeschool planner and share it here online with you all for free.
This free printable includes planner pages instead of an entire planner. This way, you can customize your own by using what you like and omitting the pages you don’t need. The pages are also undated so that you can use them any time and not waste pages for months you might have missed.
The free printable Charlottle Mason homeschool planner will be near the bottom of the page.
What do the planner pages include?
Cover Pages
Every planner needs a pretty cover page. I love minimal, black and white, pen and ink sketches with a vintage look.
I also included a page where you can record the academic year and who the planner belongs to if you want to keep this planner for records at the end of the year.
Weekly Timetable
If you’re a Charlotte Mason mama, your weekly timetable is your lifeline and had to be included in the Mother-Teacher’s Planner. Use this page to schedule out your homeschool week and subject loop.
Daily Rhythm Sheet
You can use this page to plan out your family’s daily rhythm. You can include homeschool blocks, mealtimes, housekeeping work or whatever your family needs each day.
Cleaning Schedule
You’re more than a mother-teacher, you’re a homemaker as well. This page lets you plan out a weekly cleaning schedule that helps you manage your housekeeping tasks while balancing everything else on your plate.
Curriculum Plan
Write down all of the subjects you plan to include in your academic year. Then, write down the curriculum(s) you plan to use for each subject and each student.
Supply List
List all of the supplies you need to purchase for the school year and check them off of your shopping list, so you don’t miss anything.
Field Trip Log
Record all of your family’s or co-op’s field trips in one place for your homeschool records.
Reading Log
What Charlote Mason mama doesn’t love a good book list? Record all of your read alouds in one place to see how much your family read together in one school year.
Monthly Pages and Monthly Notes
The undated monthly pages allow you to see your month at a glance. Write down birthdays, events etc. Use the monthly notes page to write down your thoughts, goals, TBR (to be read) book list, etc.
Weekly Mother’s To-Do List
Record all of your personal to-dos for the week in one place separate from your weekly homeschool plan.
Weekly Meal Plan
Prep for the week ahead by planning your family meals so that you don’t have to scramble for ideas when bellies start rumbling.
Weekly Homeschool Planner Pages
Plan your weekly lessons subject by subject so you know exactly what you’re doing each school day.
Weekly Logbook
This is a Charlotte Mason homeschool practice. Record what you complete each day so that you can see how much you’ve accomplished. This also lets you plan for the week ahead in case you notice that you missed something.
Some homeschool moms keep a separate notebook for this but I wanted to have everything in one place, so I included it in my planner.
Mother’s Diary
Keeping a mother’s diary is another Charlotte Mason homeschool practice, but it would highly benefit any homeschool mother no matter what method your family follows.
Record personal notes on your children’s individual progress that will help you meet them where they are. You can make notes on habit training here as well. This is another practice you could keep in a separate notebook but again, I like having it all in one binder.
End of Year Review
This is your very own Rory Gilmore pro/con list to record what worked and what didn’t at the end of the academic year.
Letter to Mother-Teacher
Just a little encouraging note from me with my contact information so that you can tell me what you think about the planner and offer suggestions that might help me improve it.
I hope you find this planner helpful!
